Most owners don’t find out their documentation has a problem until an audit forces the issue: a records request, a recoupment letter, a biller who leaves and takes half the process with her.
I’m bringing in the Checkpoint EHR team and asking them the questions I get from group practice owners every week. You can watch and learn or ask your own.
On September 22nd, I’m not teaching Audit Readiness in Practice. I’m hosting it.

Most owners I talk to don’t find out their documentation has a problem until someone else finds it first. A records request. A recoupment letter. A biller who leaves in March and takes half the process with her.
The systems side is the part nobody wants to spend a Tuesday on. It isn’t clinical work, and it isn’t why you opened a practice. But it’s what decides whether a chart review is an afternoon of pulling files or six months of your life.
Checkpoint’s team is going to answer the questions I hear constantly — the dual-eligible ones, the auth-expiration ones, the “my biller says it went out but I can’t see it anywhere” ones.
They’ll show what those look like in a system built for behavioral health instead of one that had behavioral health bolted onto it later.
You can send your own question when you register. I’ll get through as many as I can.
If you’re smaller and building toward that, you’re welcome too — just know the examples skew bigger.
Take Checkpoint’s Audit Readiness Assessment. Three minutes, seven categories, and you get a scored report back. Bring your number and it’ll make the session ten times more useful.
